Cyclist Randy Pielsticker was born with a port wine stain birthmark that covers the right side of his face. At age 19 he decided to stop trying to get rid of it. He says: "Section 15.1 of The Charter of Rights and Freedoms protects people from discrimination 'based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental of physical disability.' I am a Canadian citizen, and there are no rights to protect me from discrimination because of my facial difference."
